綿糸 UJ Cotton thread
オールドジーンズの縫い糸を再現した、こだわり系デニムアイテムには欠かせない糸です。
下糸は30番をお使い下さい。テンションバランスがとりやすくなります。
綿糸Z1,Z2,Z3は1960年ころまでに作られていた綿製ミシン糸に近づけるため手作りに近い製法となっています。
それにより繰り返しの洗濯で徐々に退色し黄色系の色へと変化する様も見事に再現されています。
Up until 1960. UJ Cotton #Z-1. Z-2. and Z-3 was produced to resemble handmade, cotton sewing thread.
And at the time, the color on these threads gradually faded to yellow during the washing process. This created a very unique characteristic that is no longer found in threads today.
However, we continue to make these sewing threads in the same traditional way retaining it's unique characteristics.

8番糸は、ミシン針18番が必要です。
家庭用でも直線縫い専用のミシンで丸針規格のものは使用可能です。
下糸は30番か20番を使いますが、多くの場合20番の下糸ではボビンのテンションを再調整しないとうまくバランスがとれないと思われますので、慎重に試し縫いをして下さい。

CTZ --OldGray,AlmondBrown,SandOlive-- は1960年代のカラージーンズ、ワークパンツ、トラウザー、ジャケットを由来とした綿糸シリーズです。
それらはブラウンダックパンツ、ピケジーンズなどのデッドストックを元に再現されています。
1960年代半ばより以降はポリエステル糸の発達に伴い綿糸が使われる事は無くなりました。
クラシックな雰囲気を出したいワークウエアにおすすめです。オンスの低めな生地は上下30番でもよいでしょう。
